| Highway Maintenance Worker Traineeship POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN CATTARAUGUS, CHAUTAUQUA, ERIE & NIAGARA COUNTIES) Duties include: Operation of heavy dump, snowplow and heavy equipment. Morning and afternoon shifts available. Minimum Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. Pass the Department of Civil Service medical exam and pre-employment drug test. Possess a valid non-restricted Class A or B CDL, with air brake endorsement, considered to be in good standing by the Department of Transportation. Possess one year experience operating highway construction or maintenance equipment, or vehicles in excess of 26,000 lbs. GVW with air brakes and manual transmission. Acceptable Experience: Operation of highway, construction or maintenance equipment such as heavy dump truck, backhoe, loader, roller, grader, hydraulic excavator, truck mounted post hole auger, catch vac, snow plow wing, paver screed, and various logging and farming equipment based on size cost, and complexity. Not Acceptable Experience: School bus, pickup truck, crew truck, brush chipper, cement mixer, generator, air compressor, fork lift, and others.
